School Supply and Textbook Drive 🏫

  • Multiple Locations Around Campus (map)

Sponsor: The Mizzou Education Bank

The Mizzou Education Bank is a recognized student organization at Mizzou that seeks to promote social mobility by addressing the financial barriers within our society that prevent low-income individuals an equal opportunity to receive a quality education. We believe the success of students should not be undermined by their ability to afford course materials. According to a faculty and student survey done at Mizzou, 13% of Mizzou students have considered leaving due to high cost of course materials (OER). To alleviate the financial strain many students face when purchasing course materials, we are holding a school supply and textbook drive at the end of the semester where students can donate supplies (e.g. lab goggles, calculators, pencils) at the end of the semester. We plan to distribute the materials we collect to future MU students who encounter financial barriers in obtaining school supplies and textbooks for their courses with the help of University services. If you would like to support this event, please donate any course materials and textbooks that are in good and usable condition at one of the collection bins we have set up across campus. We have placed collection bins near the lobby and front desks of the student unions. Our collection bins have a label on them regarding this event and will have a QR code for you to learn more about this drive.
