  • Black at Mizzou

    The purpose of this study is to understand how Black students enrolled at the University of Missouri cope with and respond to potentially stressful experiences on campus. Specifically, it is being conducted to examine how perceptions of campus racial climate and other racialized experiences influence psychological well-being.

  • Racialized Impostor Scale Development

    The purpose of this study is to develop the first novel scale to assess impostor phenomenon among racially marginalized populations.

  • Adverse Police Interactions

    The purpose of this study is to examine the influence of police interactions on the mental health of Black adolescents, specifically its interaction with psychosocial trauma. Another aim is to investigate whether the effects of direct and vicarious exposure to adverse police interactions is compounded by other psychosocial trauma. Protective factors such as social support and racial socialization is also examined as they serve as a buffer against the effects of direct and vicarious experiences of adverse police interactions.

  • Black Family Life Experiences

    The purpose of this study is to prospectively assess racism-related trauma and mental health concerns among Black youth and adolescents, including explanatory culturally relevant psychosocial mechanisms that can be targeted to reduce the psychological impact of racism-related trauma and other forms of psychosocial traumatic stress. Specifically, this study aims to examine the effect of racism-related trauma on internalizing and externalizing behaviors and investigate how RRV and RI influence the relationship between racism-related trauma and mental health outcomes cross sectionally.
